Now working as a freelance photographer and photo editor, Elaine Livingstone’s career has seen her work on a variety of domestic and international assignments for a wide range of clients, national press, bespoke publishing houses and personal projects. Elaine currently resides in Glasgow, Scotland.
Former picture editor of the award-winning Sunday Herald newspaper and The Herald Magazine, Elaine has also held positions with The Sunday Times newspaper and as a senior photo editor and photographer with OPUS.
Elaine volunteers as a photography mentor, working with emerging photographers, and guest lectures on the subject of photo- journalism at various institutions.
Polaroid has, and continues to be, a cherished medium of photography to work in.
Additionally, Elaine has found street photography to be a challenging and rewarding aspect of her work and she recently exhibited an acclaimed retrospective, 'Twenty One Years of Street'.
As well as taking commissions, Elaine is working on various personal projects in areas that she holds interests in.
Clients include The Herald, Sunday Herald and The National newspapers, The Royal College of Nursing, The University of Strathclyde, The University of Stirling, Unicef and The Homeless World Cup Foundation.
